Relationship breakdown: who is more worried?

There is an expression: "Parting is a small death." A break with a partner is always very painful for the psyche. Researchers from University College London and Binghamton University polled nearly 6,000 people to see who was having the hardest time enduring a breakup. Most of the appeals to the family psychologist concern this problem.

Features of psychology:

- It turned out that women suffer much more immediately after parting.

- Men feel more relaxed at first.

This is due to biological characteristics, since women:

- Carefully approach the choice of a partner, because they are genetically oriented to the birth of healthy children.

- They have a rich imagination and are more emotional, they tend to plan a joint future, starting from the first days of their acquaintance.

All this leads to the fact that at the moment of parting they experience the tragic fall of "castles in the air".

At the same time, surprisingly, women recover much faster than men. Girls tend to cut off all ties, delete joint photos and block their ex-lover. As a result, they quickly return to a full life.

Men, for the first time after parting, feel light, enjoy freedom. But soon after, they begin to miss their former lover. This is also genetically determined: scientists explain this by the fact that men are hunters by nature. It is psychologically difficult for them to let go of their “prey”.
